Court halts Surgutneftegas' license for Nyatlongsky oilfield

MOSCOW, Nov 15 (PRIME) -- The Sverdlovsk Region Arbitration Court has suspended Surgutneftegas’ license for the Nyatlongsky oilfield in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District after a suit from Lukoil, according to the documents seen by PRIME on Tuesday.

Surgutneftegas was the only company given admission to the auction for the field after Lukoil and UDS Oil were qualified by the Urals natural resources authority as incapable of developing the field.

Lukoil contested the decision on September 30 and asked to suspend the license until a court ruling on the case.

The next hearing of the case is slated for December 6.
